Heya Jo,
Good news - I got Rosie and our whole Fashion Team on the case and they knew exactly who the brand was and rattled off a list of places that would be appropriate to be stocked in Sydney:
In Department Stores:
David Jones (In Aus, designer brands are stocked at either Myer or DJ's - never both because you're always exclusive to one and DJ's is of course more prestige)
Then Boutique Shops:
Arida (Potts Point)
The Corner Shop (Paddington & George St, City)
Belinda (Paddington)
Blood Orange (Elizabeth Bay)
Pink Zebra (Mosman, CBD, Paddington, Chatswood)
Robbie Ingham (Paddington)
Christensen Copenhagen (Double Bay)
Online:
The Dreamery
And finally, the girls recommended that you just google and research any clothes boutiques in Double Bay and Mosman as none of them knew shops in these areas off the top of their heads but they said that shops in this area would also be the right place for the brand.
Hope this helps!

Robbie Ingham?!! They stock Dries, Paul smith and Alexander McQueen! I am a little surprised that they also stock Sabatini!!!
ReplyDeleteOk. So i just re-read this email, while checking the stockists listed on the Saba website. The list the girls have given above are places they THINK the lable would fit. HOWEVER, NONE of them appear on the stockists on the web. This poses a very interesting question of how the label is percieved, esp by these women who are stylish and all in their late 20's/ early 30's. Obviously we cannt tell the company their stockists are wrong, but perhaps give further insight into their actual customer vs ideal customer?

ReplyDeleteOk. So I've just gone through the stockists Sabatini lists on their website. Perhaps they are lying, cos none of them have mentioned Sabatini White, nor does any of their stock get visually seen... The link above is from Entity, a store at Chatswood Chase (North Shore Sydney major mall), interesting to see who else they stock - Kirrily Johntson, Life With Bird, Kate Sylvester, Camilla and Mark etc. A MUCH YOUNGER AUDIENCE THAN EXPECTED... Other designers mentioned at stores, Therese Rawsthorne, Uscari, White Velvet. Very interesting.
